Way to go, Barack!

There's been a recent controversy in Barack Obama's candidacy for the Democratic party nomination, with his former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright making sermons suggesting the United States brought the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on itself and saying blacks continue to be mistreated by whites. Obama's rightly disowned Wright's divisive comments, but more importantly made a frank and thoughtful speech on race relations in America. The hallmark is that it brings out his policy of reconciliation and his consistency over his position throughout the period of his campaign, while his opponent has kept herself limited to soundbites and attacks, with no vision and worldview. You can find a transcript of the talk here. May the best candidate win to take the U.S. out of the pathetic Bush Era.

His pastor didn't merely say blacks were mistreated; his words were that American government invented the AIDS virus to kill minorities. That is not criticism, it is a vicious lie. and we shouldn't forget, Obama made his speech when he was backed into a corner due to statements made by someone who is a father figure to him. Indeed, before that speech he hardly ever mentioned race and was positioning himself as a post-racial and post-partisan candidate. Sadly, he is neither. In fact, his 'world-view' and his vision is quite parochial, and both him and Hillary have been cynically exploiting the plight of American workers by opposing free trade agreements left, right and center.
