Fickle Govt.

What an about turn!! After sending back the Office of Profit Bill to the President without any changes, in utter disregard of all constitutional propreity, the UPA Govt. is now having jitters. They have now at the eleventh hour decided to constitute a JPC to think about the President's recommendations. The reason - the President is sitting on the bill and seems in no hurry to give his assent to them. Time is running out fast, especially for our left comrades as the spectre of disqualification looms over them. To save their comrades' skins the govt. has added an additional term of reference to "examine the feasibility of adoption of a system of law relating to prevention of disqualification of MPs as existing in the UK". This is really a sorry state of affairs, when even the highest echelons of the govt. show such a disregard for constitutional procedures.
