Finally, some radical thought ...

It was really encouraging to see an innovative proposal to radically change India's legal system. Under this system of plea bargaining, the accused can bargain for a reduced sentence in exchange for pleading guilty. This will surely bring relief to the judiciary and expedite the trial of many trivial cases and let the judiciary concentrate on the more serious cases and heinous crimes. I hope this proposal is not stymied in the moralistic posturing of our politicians .. especially from those of the leftist variety.
Seems like an innocuous thing to write about, but then these are early signs of pragmatism in the establishment .. so it was worth penning a few words.
