Finally, I exist in IIT

Wondering what that means? Well, a senior in my hostel made a statement that "you don't exist in IIT without your identity card". I have my I-card finally hence I can emphatically say that I now exist here. More so, because I have got a hang of the place, lingo and the culture. Had a hangout at Powaii lake the day after I came here, there is a wonderful waterfront among the woods and across the lake you can get a magificient view of the Hiranandani buildings. This weekend I discovered a short route to the Market Gate from my hostel that took me there in 12 min flat. Terms like SPI(Semeser Performace Index), CPI, credit & audit courses and slots are buzzing all around me.

I have the privilege of being a proud occupant of the 'Queen of the Campus' .. that's Hostel-1. Being the first, it is the closest to the department. Reminds me of my school days, when I would go home for lunch. That luxury had been lost for years of travelling to Pune from Dehu Road, until now. This now gives me a long-lost flexibility.

Ours is truly a "Department Without Borders" . The CSE department building is undergoing major reconstruction, so we are all over the place in the EE department, KReSIT, Maths Department.
Selection of electives is a major problem (I have no doubt it is NP-hard ;) .. or maybe even tougher). The deadline for that is fast approaching, so got to decide that soon too. And as soon as that is done there is the deadline for seminars and then ... I will discover that soon.

Meanwhile, 'Atlas Shrugged' is keeping me occupied as is anti-chess. Also, this page is seeing more activity ever since I landed here, and this will only increase .. so keep watching this space.
